Dobaaraa (2022)

In the heart of Pune's Hinjewadi region, 1996, a tempestuous storm brews, stirring the course of destiny. Amidst this chaos, a young boy of 10-12 years, Anay, is nestled in his humble abode, living with his single mother. A sense of longing compels him to communicate with his absent father through recorded video messages on an old television set. On this fateful stormy night, Anay's curiosity leads him to his neighbor's residence, where he stumbles upon the lifeless body of the owner's wife. In his attempt to escape, he meets an untimely end, struck by a passing vehicle. Fast forward to 2021, twenty-five years later, a woman named Antara, her husband Vikas, and their daughter Avanti move into the same house, unknowingly inheriting Anay's eerie legacy. On a night mirroring the same tempestuous storm from decades ago, they unearth Anay's old television set and his recorded messages. As their friend Abhisheik narrates the tragic tale of Anay, a bizarre twist of fate ensues. Antara finds herself communicating with the young boy from the past, urging him not to venture into the neighbor's house, foretelling his death from her knowledge of the future. However, the dawn breaks into a reality that Antara can hardly recognize. She awakens in an unfamiliar place where time has rewritten the script of her life. Now known as Dr. Antara Vashisht, she finds that Vikas is no longer her husband and her daughter Avanti is but a figment of a forgotten past. A ripple effect from her attempt to save Anay has irrevocably altered the fabric of her existence, leaving her to grapple with the unsettling consequences of her well-intentioned intervention.
