Plot

In the serene, hilly landscapes of Goa, Vijay Salgaonkar, an orphan turned self-made cable TV operator, crafts a modest life for his family. A man of humble beginnings and simpler needs, Vijay's world revolves around his wife Nandini and their two daughters. Despite his lack of formal education, his street-smart savvy and relentless hard work have secured them a comfortable existence. Yet, his passion for cinema outshines all else, leading him to spend countless nights engrossed in the flickering stories of the small screen. Nandini, a devoted wife, yearns for a life less frugal and dreams of a world of abundance for her family. Balancing their contrasting aspirations, the family enjoys a tranquil existence, until a fateful twist of events shatters their peace. A teenage boy, Sam Deshmukh, son of the formidable Inspector General Meera Deshmukh and affluent businessman Mahesh Deshmukh, disappears mysteriously. Sam, who had maliciously filmed their daughter Anju at a college camp and later attempted to exploit her, meets his end at the hands of a desperate Nandini. Vijay, returning to a home engulfed in panic and fear, must now employ his wit and his profound understanding of human nature, gleaned from countless films, to protect his family. With the relentless Inspector Gaitonde suspecting him and the powerful IG Deshmukh breathing down his neck, the plot thickens. The Salgaonkar family finds itself in the eye of a storm, battling the oppressive might of power and authority. As the tension escalates, the narrative weaves through a tumultuous investigation, testing the family's bonds and resilience. How this ordinary man navigates the treacherous waters of deceit and manipulation to shield his family forms the crux of this riveting tale. The journey, riddled with unexpected turns, culminates in a shocking climax that leaves a lasting impact. "Drishyam" is a gripping saga of survival, love, and the invincible spirit of a family united against extraordinary circumstances.
