Doctor Who follows the time and universe traveling adventures of The Doctor, the series main character. An alien from the planet Gallifrey, the Doctor travels the universe, moving through space and time and engaging in a slew of adventures with his various human companions. He does so in his TARDIS, a spaceship that is shaped like a classic British phone box. Blessed with multiple lives as a result of his alien constitution, the Doctor's face, body, and gender has changed over many years, with the Doctor constantly engaging in a variety of adventures to save humanity, his race, and the universe itself.
