In the heart of New York City, Lourdes, a solitary immigrant mother, portrayed by Marta Milans, toils through the witching hours as a cleaner in an age-worn restaurant. The life she leads is steeped in isolation and desperation, her every waking moment dedicated to the well-being of her ailing son, who lives miles away in her hometown under the care of her mother. The fruits of Lourdes' relentless labor are funneled towards her son's medical expenses, his deteriorating health a constant, gnawing worry.
