Dead of Night (1974)

In the unforgiving throes of the Vietnam War, the life of a young and valiant soldier, Andrew "Andy" Brooks, is abruptly extinguished. His mother, Christine, consumed by an overwhelming grief, implores her son to defy the shackles of death and return home. Christine's universe revolved around Andy, her radiant pride and joy, and his loss leaves an unbearable void. Struggling to digest the harrowing news of his demise, the Brooks family is thrown into a whirlwind of shock and confusion when Andy mysteriously reappears at their doorstep, seemingly unscathed by the brutal war. His arrival, however, is shrouded in an eerie darkness. Andy retreats into the solitude of his room, avoiding the company of friends and family and only emerging under the cover of night.
