As the curtain rises on June 1942, the formidable Japanese Navy has unfurled its dominance across the vast expanse of the Pacific. A U.S carrier fleet, strategically positioned off the Midway coast, is laden with the monumental task of altering the war's course. They plan to spring a deadly trap on their unsuspecting foe during this critical encounter. In the throes of this titanic clash, the two-man team of an American Navy dive bomber find themselves plummeting into the ocean's depths, their aircraft lost to the sea. Left adrift in the seemingly boundless Pacific, they cast hopeful eyes towards their brethren in arms for salvation. Their beacon of hope is the motley crew of a PBY Catalina, dispatched into the perilous open waters on a heroic rescue mission.
