On a fateful Memorial Day in 1993, young Kyle Vogel stumbles upon a relic of history - his grandfather Bud's footlocker, carrying the weight of World War II. Despite the chorus of voices urging him to leave it untouched, Kyle's curiosity wins. Bud, a man of few words about his wartime experiences, finds himself making an unexpected pact with his grandson. Kyle can select any three keepsakes from the footlocker, and in return, Bud will unveil the stories they carry. Memorial Day is a time-traveling journey, shifting between Bud's intricate war-torn past and Kyle's destined future in combat. As both men navigate their own battlegrounds, they discover the profound impact of that enchanting day spent on the porch.
