Dance of the Dead (2008)

In the whirlwind of anticipation surrounding the Hawaiian Hula Prom, the students of a seemingly ordinary high school are buzzing with excitement. Amidst the chaos of corsages and tuxedos, pizza delivery boy Jimmy Dunn's date falls through when a spat with his girlfriend Lindsey, the student council vice-president, derails their plans. Elsewhere, the high school's underappreciated Sci-Fi Club, led by Steven, embarks on an expedition to the local cemetery, armed with a borrowed MIT device. As the night unfurls, characters collide in unexpected ways. Steven's invitation to cheerleader Gwen cascades into a tangle of unrequited affections and social faux pas. Lindsey, now paired with the haughty student council president Mitch Cutter, finds herself in an eerie cemetery near a power plant. Meanwhile, the 'Quarter Punks', a local band, discover an odd connection between their music and the undead, during a rehearsal in their garage. Suddenly, the ordinary turns extraordinary when the cemetery springs to life, disgorging a horde of ravenous zombies. As the living dead invade the town, the high school's social hierarchy crumbles, and unexpected heroes emerge. The Sci-Fi Club's cemetery expedition takes a terrifying turn, leaving a trio of survivors, including Jules, Steven, and George, to escape the zombie legion. Lindsey, having narrowly escaped Mitch's zombified fate, rescues the beleaguered trio, creating an unlikely alliance. Simultaneously, Jimmy's routine pizza delivery morphs into a desperate fight for survival, leading him to cross paths with Gwen and the rebellious Kyle Grubbin. The disparate groups, united under the leadership of Coach Keel, must put their differences aside and rally their courage. Armed with everything from sledgehammers to guitars, this motley crew of teens embarks on a mission to save their peers from the prom night from hell. But as the zombies close in, they soon realize this is a dance they may not survive. As the night crescendos, they're in for a prom they will never forget.
