In the heart of Korea, the shadow of a monstrous serial killer, Lee Du-sok, looms large. With ten lives extinguished and another woman presumed his victim, the specter of his heinous crimes persists. Yet, with the passing of fifteen years, the legal clock runs out, and his last crime slips through the fingers of justice due to the statute of limitations. Unbelievably, Du-sok brazenly publishes a tell-all book, detailing each chilling murder with uncanny precision. Haunted by the unsolved cases, Detective Choi, the man who painstakingly investigated each of Du-sok's past murders, is reignited with a renewed determination to bring closure to the eleventh victim's fate. Simultaneously, a tempest of revenge stirs within Han Ji-Soo, a grieving mother whose daughter was Du-sok’s last known victim. She rallies her family and friends, vowing retribution. The plot thickens when a sensationalist television network orchestrates a live debate between the audacious Du-sok and the relentless Detective Choi. The event takes a shocking turn when an enigmatic figure known only as "J" intervenes, claiming to be the true killer and branding Du-sok a pretender. As a new wave of terror washes over the nation, doubts arise about Du-sok's authenticity. Is he the real serial killer, or is there another player in this macabre game of death? The narrative deftly juggles truth and deception, unraveling the intricate web of relationships tangled in this deadly dance.
