In the chilling echo of her investigative journalism on pedophilia, Ji-won is haunted by menacing phone calls, forcing her to change her number. Seeking refuge, she moves to the desolate house of her friends, Ho-jung and Chang-hoon, in Bang Bae. However, the ominous shadow of the phone follows her when their daughter, Yeong-ju, answers a call on Ji-won's new phone, triggering a terrifying transformation in the child. The once-innocent girl becomes eerily drawn to her father, whilst violently rejecting her mother.
Simultaneously, Ji-won is plagued by strange occurrences connected to her new number. Haunting melodies of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" serenade her from unseen pianos, while mysterious calls leave her trembling. Intrigued and terrified, she embarks on an investigation into the enigmatic history of her phone number. Her search reveals a chilling pattern: the abrupt and unexplained deaths of the number's previous owners.
The trail of death leads her to the number's first owner, a high school girl named Jin-hee, who has inexplicably vanished. As Ji-won delves deeper into Jin-hee's past, she uncovers a twisted tale of a teenager tormented by an obsessive and unrequited love. The dark and tragic secrets surrounding Jin-hee's fate begin to unravel, hinting at a sinister force at work. As Yeong-ju's behaviour spirals further into the realm of the unnatural, Ji-won must race against time to unearth the truth before she too falls victim to the cursed phone.
