Plot

In the cloistered corridors of a Korean boarding school, whispers of an old legend echo, revolving around its enigmatic stairway of twenty-eight steps. Supposedly, the appearance of a twenty-ninth step unveils a mystical opportunity for the climber to have a wish granted by the elusive fox spirit. This cryptic allure ensnares the destinies of two ballet students, Kim So-hee and Yoon Jin-sung, bound by love yet torn apart by rivalry for a coveted spot in a prestigious Russian ballet school. So-hee, a gifted and passionate dancer, is in deep, tender love with Jin-sung. However, cloaked in envy and burning with desire to surpass So-hee, Jin-sung succumbs to the lure of the fabled stairway. Oblivious of the dire consequences, she urges the fox spirit to outshine her beloved So-hee. Tragically, her wish is granted at an unthinkable price— the accidental death of So-hee. Simultaneously, another narrative unfolds with the school's pariah, Eon Hae-ju, who endures the torment inflicted by her heartless classmate, Han Yoon-ji. Grieving the loss of So-hee, Hae-ju stumbles upon the enigmatic step and, driven by desperation, wishes for So-hee's return. However, the seemingly benign stairway is not as benevolent as it appears, and Hae-ju is about to learn the harsh reality of tampering with fate. "Wishing Stairs" interweaves a chilling tapestry of desire, consequences, and the perilous allure of granted wishes. The legend of the stairway becomes a haunting dance of fate, where ambition, love, and desperation intertwine, leading down a path of unforeseen tragic consequences. This chilling tale serves as a stark reminder: be careful what you wish for, for every wish has a price.
