In the raw and ruthless world of cockfighting, Frank Mansfield, a man of few words but abundant ambition, yearns for the coveted title of Cockfighter of the Year. After a reckless wager costs him his champion rooster, he takes a vow of silence, pledging not to utter a word until he secures the sought-after honor. His audacious bet with his old companion, Jack, at a forthcoming meet, sees him gamble not just his car and trailer, but also his intermittent girlfriend who comes along with the trailer, in a desperate bid to reclaim his lost glory. However, the tides of fortune don't favor him, and he finds himself defeated, sans his trailer, car, and the girl, and deeper in the relentless pursuit of his dream.
