Plot
Sanjuro, a ronin samurai, ventures into a village and discovers a power struggle between two gangs. Sanjuro chooses to play both sides against one another by offering his sword and bodyguard skills. The samurai eventually runs afoul of one gang leader's son, Unosuke. After suffering a near-death beating, Sanjuro chooses to put an end to the town's troubles.
