Terrence McDonagh is a bad copy in a city that's seen plenty of both bad cops and bad fortune. He earned a promotion to lieutenant after saving a prisoner from the flooding of Hurricane Katrina, but he also gained serious back pain that led to a pills and cocaine addiction. He's now on the hunt for the person behind the killing of five Sengalese immigrants. But Terrence's own dysfunctional friends and family are as much a threat to his life and his personal career as any of his own issues, or of the vicious criminals he'll be forced to interact with.
