Plot

In the heart of the 1960s Tyneside, inspired by the riveting novel of renowned author David Almond, emerges an unworldly tale of friendship, fear, and the formidable power of creation. "Clay" lures us into the lives of two resilient 14-year-old boys, who unite their spirits against the oppressive reign of Mouldy, the town's notorious bully. Transforming Crazy Mary's forsaken garden shed into their clandestine workshop, the boys stumble upon an eerie ability - the sculptures they meticulously mold from clay take on a life of their own. Together, they breathe life into a golem, a humanoid fashioned from clay, possessing the power to vanquish any adversary, even the formidable Martin Mould. However, the sudden death of Mouldy plunges the boys into a tempest of guilt and fear, forcing them to grapple with the horrifying magnitude of their unearthly power. This compelling fable illustrates the perilous journey of David, whose ordinary life is forever altered by the arrival of a cryptic outsider. "Clay" is a chilling exploration of the unintended consequences of wielding power and the haunting repercussions of getting what one wishes for. This immersive narrative promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, captivated by the shadowy magic of this mesmerizing tale.
