Choice of Arms (1981)

In a world where loyalty is a currency and violence is a trade, two convicts orchestrate a daring escape from the confines of prison only to be met with an attack from a rival gang. One of them, fatally injured, implores his companion, the volatile Mickey, to seek refuge at the residence of a former felon, Noel. Now retired and nestled in a life of tranquility with his cherished wife, Nicole, Noel's past is suddenly dragged into his present by the arrival of the dying man. Mickey, a figure of menace and unpredictability, imposes upon Noel, demanding a share of his wealth. Not content with his initial encounter, Mickey shakes up the peaceful estate once more, disrupting a dinner party with gunshots and threats. In response, Noel dispatches Nicole to the safety of a hotel and seeks assistance from old allies, setting the stage for a thrilling manhunt for the perilous Mickey. But Mickey is a man plagued by his own demons, including the emotional torment of a distant relationship with his daughter. Meanwhile, Nicole finds herself the focus of keen-eyed, ambitious young detectives eager for a lead. This intricate web of old alliances, new enemies, and personal struggles sets them on an inevitable, intricate collision course, where choices made will determine their fate.
