In Cheap Thrills (2013), Craig (Pat Healy), a hardworking everyman, grapples with the harsh realities of unemployment and the looming threat of eviction. Fleeing from the impending discord at home, he ventures to a neighborhood watering hole where he crosses paths with an old comrade (Ethan Embry). The duo's low-key night takes a sharp turn when they're ensnared in a whirlwind of drinks and daring propositions by a magnetic, outrageously affluent stranger (David Koechner) and his enigmatic wife (Sara Paxton). Offering a tempting bounty for each dare completed, the evening spirals into a maelstrom of escalating challenges that blur ethical boundaries. Despite the seemingly effortless cash and the intoxicating allure of cheap thrills, the couple's perverse sense of amusement tests how far Craig and his pal are prepared to tread in this twisted game of risk and reward.
