Plot

In the bustling world of big business, Richard Field, a prosperous magnate, falls hard for his vibrant younger employee, Diane Lovering. Despite his attempts, his avaricious wife clings to their failing marriage, refusing him the freedom of divorce. On a South American cruise, Diane's life takes an unexpected turn when she meets the charismatic rancher, Mike Bradley, introduced by his quick-witted friend, Johnnie. A whirlwind romance ensues, spilling over from the ship to Mike's sprawling Argentinian ranch. Upon deciding to marry Mike, Diane heads back to New York to break the news to Richard. However, she is taken aback when Richard presents her with a wedding ring and news of his wife seeking a divorce in Reno. Richard's costly freedom, including a hefty financial settlement and the heartbreaking severance from his sons, moves Diane. Torn between love and duty, she puts her feelings for Mike aside to accept Richard's proposal. Diane pens a poignant letter to Mike, explaining her pragmatic choice to choose Richard's wealth and status over his love. But as she stands at the crossroads of her life, a pressing question looms - is she destined to be Mrs. Field or Mrs. Bradley?
