Plot

In the heart of Tokyo, the life of Takemura, a solitary student devoid of ambition, family, or friends, is anything but tranquil. He's ensnared in a suffocating debt of 800,000 yen, with the stern, mullet-adorned debt collector, Fukuhara, relentlessly on his tail. After a brusque encounter, Fukuhara offers Takemura a peculiar ultimatum—settle his dues within 72 hours or face dire consequences. The plot takes an unexpected turn when Takemura stumbles upon Fukuhara again, only this time he extends a bizarre proposition—a city trek. In return for a million yen, Takemura must join Fukuhara on an expansive walk across the sprawling metropolis of Tokyo. From the city's remote outskirts to its pulsating heart, they embark on a conversational odyssey. Amid their journey, Fukuhara confesses to recently murdering his wife, with plans to surrender at Kasumagaseki police station, reputedly the city's finest. Their path, however, is far from direct. As they meander through Tokyo, they encounter an array of urban dwellers, each more eccentric than the last. As they walk, talk, and exchange raw truths, the unusual agreement between Takemura and Fukuhara begins to evolve into an unlikely friendship. Their shared journey becomes an exploration of human connection and redemption in a city that never sleeps.
