California Dreamin' (2007)

In the chaotic haze of the 1999 Kosovo War, an American Marine-escorted train, laden with crucial NATO equipment and under the stern command of Captain Doug Jones, is unexpectedly detained in Capalnita, a forgotten Romanian hamlet. The station master, Doiaru, hinders the train's progress on a minor paperwork discrepancy. As the days stretch out, the curious villagers seize the opportunity to exploit the Marines' unplanned sojourn. The ambitious mayor even orchestrates a festive celebration in their honor. However, amidst the bewildering circumstances, an unexpected romance blossoms. Sergeant David McLaren, Jones's right-hand man, finds himself captivated by Monica, the wily station master's daughter who yearns for a life beyond the village's confines.
