Plot
On the cusp of Christmas, a small town in Eastern Europe stirs with the anticipation of the festive season. Sixteen winters have come and gone since the revolution that changed their lives. Amongst the townsfolk, Piscoci, a solitary retiree, begins to prepare for another Christmas in solitude. Simultaneously, Manescu, a beleaguered history teacher, wrestles with relentless debts that threaten to overshadow his holiday cheer.
In stark contrast, Jderescu, a local television station owner, remains indifferent to the yuletide spirit. For him, the past calls with a question that has haunted the town for 16 years, a question that demands to be answered. Teaming up with Piscoci and Manescu, he ventures on a quest to confront the echoes of their history. Their shared objective is to unravel an enduring enigma: "Did their town truly witness a revolution, or was it merely a figment of collective imagination?"
As the town readies itself for Christmas, these three men grapple with their past, seeking truth amidst the snow-covered streets, in a quest that threatens to redefine their understanding of history and their place in it.
