Born Of War (2013)

In the tumultuous twilight of the 1980s, Daphne, a young Englishwoman, becomes ensnared in a life-altering web of accusations and duplicity. Accused of a brutal murder of a young boy from a tribal family amidst a raging war, she escapes her old life, leaving behind a shrouded past marked with secrets and a forbidden affair with a tribal leader. Fast forward twenty years to 2011. Mina, an ordinary student living a simple life, unknowingly harbors a connection to Daphne's mysterious past. Her world is violently shattered one fateful night when her home falls prey to a ruthless invasion, leaving her parents dead and only herself and her younger sister alive. Plunged into protective custody, Mina finds herself on a precipice of shocking revelations. The veil is lifted, and Mina's world tilts on its axis. Daphne, her mother, not only fled from murder accusations but also harbored an illicit affair with a tribal leader, and Mina is the offspring of that clandestine relationship. Now, her true father, a relentless warlord, demands her return. Born of war and hidden amongst the ordinary, Mina must navigate a labyrinth of dark secrets and violent truths. Her once mundane life is turned inside out, and she is forced to confront her identity, her loyalties, and her destiny. Faced with a reality where she is the pawn in a deadly game, Mina must decide who to trust and choose a side to fight on, all while grappling with the question of who she truly is.
