Amiable Barry Sagan is a man of simple pleasures, with his life revolving around photography and scrapbooking, but his circle of friends remains small. Mick Hedgeworth, on the other hand, is boisterous and drawn to the thrill of explosions, yet he too faces the loneliness of a small social circle. In an unexpected twist of fate, these two contrasting personalities form an unlikely alliance. As Mick, along with his wife Maggie and their son Hunter, rent a house from Barry, they paint a picture of familial bliss. But their idyllic existence is soon threatened when local women start mysteriously disappearing. When Maggie believes she has witnessed a horrific act of murder committed by a grotesque, masked figure, her mental equilibrium is thrown off balance, and the very fabric of the Hedgeworth family begins to tear apart. The question looms large - who, or what, is this disguised creature? And what fate awaits Barry and the unraveling Hedgeworth family?
