In the gritty world of law and order, Det. Mike Carter has made a name for himself, not for his strict adherence to the rules, but for his propensity to bend them to his will, using his formidable physical prowess to get his point across. This rebellious streak, however, earns him no favors from his superior, Lieutenant Borden, leading to an inevitable collision course. His tenure in this new role is marked by a sinister twist when he is implicated in a brutal murder. Now, Carter must outwit the police hot on his trail and unravel the mystery behind the attempts on Gene's life and the chilling murder, all while keeping himself and his fiancée, Doris Brewster, a police department clerk, out of harm's way. As the threads of this perilous tapestry begin to unravel, it becomes clear that the mastermind behind the unfolding chaos has a distinct role in mind for Carter.
