Plot

In an intriguing twist of suburban life, Kenny the tiger shark abandons the vast ocean to become an unconventional family pet. With all the instincts and characteristics of his wild counterparts, this 8-foot, 1,500-pound aquatic creature must grapple with the calm rhythm of family life. The stakes are high - failure to adapt means surrendering his cherished bond with his best friend, Kat, and returning to the ocean depths. Kenny shares his home with 10-year-old Kat and her relatively understanding family, despite his hulking size and pungent aroma. As a unique language bridge, Kat’s ability to ‘speak shark’ becomes crucial when Kenny's predatory instincts target the mail or, alarmingly, the mail carrier. Living with a shark proves to be a tide full of challenges for young Kat. Kenny is a creature of the sea, after all, with an insatiable hunger, a penchant for nocturnal activity, and a constant shedding of teeth. His culinary preferences range from the family’s furniture – especially Dad’s beanbag chairs – to Kat’s baby brother, whose scent is oddly appealing to the marine predator. To stay in his newfound home, Kenny must suppress his natural urges, surviving on imitation seal flakes and resisting the temptation of delectable human morsels. However, the family’s love for adopting wild pets often leads to unforeseen issues, making Kat's role in maintaining peace, teaching Kenny manners, and preventing him from wreaking havoc, an essential part of the household dynamic. In this peculiar yet endearing setup, both Kenny and Kat learn to navigate the choppy waters of interspecies companionship, where the line between predator and pet is blurred, and every day brings a new wave of adventure.
