Plot

In the heart of Rylands, a middle-class Muslim district in Cape Town, resides the resilient matriarch Aisha Davids (65), a single mother who has raised four spirited sons. After the devastating loss of their father, a rift ensued over the family business, causing the siblings to scatter in different directions. Since then, Aisha has persistently tried to gather her brood for Eid-al-Fitr, but her appeals have repeatedly fallen on deaf ears. However, this year carries a different tune. Aisha, with a rejuvenated spirit, has found love again and things are getting serious. Her mission? To introduce her newfound partner, Albertus, to her family during the extended Eid weekend. She knows this might be her only shot at getting her estranged sons under one roof. But the underlying motive is to seek their blessing for her to remarry. As this (remarkably) long weekend unfurls, tradition and buried resentments will clash, unveiling long-kept secrets and igniting unavoidable confrontations. Amidst the turmoil and drawn battle lines, Aisha's unwavering resolve will be put to the test as she strives to mend the fragmented ties, while also reminding her sons of the cherished family values and traditions with which she raised them.
