Gangster Squad (2013)

It’s 1949 and Mickey Cohen is a ruthless Chicago mobster who decides to move his operation to Los Angeles. He quickly begins taking over the city, eliminating his competition with murderous efficiency. L.A. cops are alarmed so Chief William Parker forms a special squad to go after Cohen and bust up his operation. He chooses tough veteran cop Sgt. John O’Mara. O'Mara then hand-selects four of his most trusted policemen pals and asks a fifth, Jerry Wooters, to join. Wooters says no - but when he sees Cohen’s thugs murder a kid – he’s all in.
