Bad Men of Missouri (1941)

In the aftermath of the Civil War, the Younger brothers - steadfast Cole (Dennis Morgan), daring Bob (Wayne Morris), and lovestruck Jim (Arthur Kennedy) - return to their Missouri roots. Their homecoming is marred by the malicious deeds of William Merrick (Victor Jory), a corrupt banker ruthlessly seizing land from farmers through back-tax warrants. The brothers' resolve hardens when their father, Henry Younger (Russell Simpson), falls victim to one of Merrick's henchmen, and Cole is unjustly accused of murder. Escaping the clutches of the law, the brothers embark on a daring crusade of bank and train heists. Their targets? Merrick's ill-gotten treasures, which they distribute back to the beleaguered farmers. Love complicates their mission when Jim, bewitched by the captivating Mary Hathaway (Jane Wyman), is ensnared and imprisoned in Harrisonville. Now, with the stakes higher than ever, Cole and Bob must saddle up for a daring rescue, their brotherly bond tested in a battle against injustice.
