Mildred Hayes' daughter was murdered a few months ago, and the local police aren't doing enough to solve her murder. Infuriated by the inaction of her small-town police department, Mildred decides to rent three billboards to try and shock the local cops into action. Instead, she sets off a chain of threats, violence and destruction as the town turns on itself. All Mildred wants is justice for her daughter. If the words on her rented billboards won't get her what she wants, how far is Mildred willing to go?
