Plot

Haunted by the loss of her unhinged father and the suicide of her beloved brother Brandon, teenager Madison McBride embarks on a journey to confront her personal demons. She enrols at Richard Miller University, the very institution where Brandon tragically ended his life. Upon her arrival, she crosses paths with the eccentric janitor, Wilbur Mackey, who whispers tales of the campus being cursed by eerie hauntings. Madison soon forms a bond with a peculiar group of schoolmates, each wrestling with their own traumas. This band of misfits includes Holt, a recovering addict; String, the socially awkward genius; Ivy and Maya, victims of sexual abuse; and Tommy, the prankster athlete. Their lives are guided by the seasoned Rez, a man carrying the weight of his own past. As the group delves deeper into their university's history, they stumble upon a chilling revelation on the internet. Their dormitory, along with a decrepit, abandoned wing, once served as an asylum in 1935. Under the supervision of the notorious Dr. Magnus Burke, it was deemed a haven for troubled teenagers, providing avant-garde treatments for their afflictions. Yet, in 1939, a violent uprising led by the institution's residents exposed Dr. Burke's cruel methods and resulted in his demise. As they grapple with this ominous history, the group soon realizes that their dormitory is haunted by more than just their own tortured pasts. The vindictive spirit of Dr. Burke lurks in the shadows, hungry for tormented souls. This chilling revelation sets the stage for a suspenseful narrative, as Madison and her friends must confront not just their personal demons, but also the ghost of a past that refuses to die.
