Plot

In the bustling veins of New York City, brilliant lawyer Nathan Del Amico reigns supreme over the courtroom, but in the deserted chambers of his personal life, he is a fallen king. With the ink of his divorce from Claire, his only love, still fresh, Nathan finds himself marooned in the barren landscape of loneliness. Just when his life appears to be in a state of irrevocable stagnation, he crosses paths with the enigmatic Doctor Kay. Doctor Kay, a self-proclaimed "Messenger," possesses an uncanny ability to predict the impending death of select individuals, a claim Nathan initially dismisses as absurd. The doctor, however, insists he has been sent to help those on the brink of mortality reorder their lives before the sands of time run out. Despite his skepticism, Nathan finds his world shaken as he begins to witness a series of unsettling events that chime ominously with Doctor Kay's macabre revelations. His disbelief starts to fracture as the eerie truth of the doctor's words begins to ripple through his life, suggesting that his own existence might be teetering on the precipice of the inevitable. As Nathan grapples with the possibility of his looming death, he must confront his past, his failures, and his regrets. The once invincible courtroom warrior is now faced with a trial where the stakes are his life itself. "Afterwards" is a haunting tale that forces us to question the value we place on our lives and the lengths we would go to set things right before the final gavel falls.
