Carlito's Way (1993)

Carlito Brigante is released 25 years early from a 30-year prison sentence and vows to leave his criminal past and lead a clean life. However, his old associates disagree, and he gets sucked back into drug dealing. He manages to escape with enough money to buy a nightclub. He intends to save enough to retire to the Caribbean. He gets embroiled with the Italian mafia and becomes an accessory to several murders of rival gang members, so he is unable to achieve his dream. His girlfriend who is pregnant with his child has enough money to escape and start a new life.
