Back within the plush confines of the box, Mr. Pest artfully uses a plump boy's cakes to further tarnish the singers' performance. An ensuing spectacle with a fire-eater takes a drenching turn as Mr. Rowdy unleashes a torrent from a hose, soaking not only the performer but also Mr. Pest and most of the audience. As the evening spirals into a riot of laughter and pandemonium, the magic of the show is drowned in a wave of Chaplin's uproarious antics.
