Alan Clay has had a bad few years. He still feels guilt over being in charge of outsourcing production at his old company to China and is in the midst of a divorce that left him broke and depressed. His new job as a salesman has him traveling to Saudi Arabia to sell a holographic teleconference system to the king. He finds himself out of place and overlooked, but this strange new environment is also the opportunity for a new beginning. When the discovery of a lump leads to a health scare, he meets a doctor who makes him feel like he once did.
