Plot

Set against the vibrant backdrop of 1979 Brooklyn, the narrative of 79 Parts unfolds, centering around the artistically inclined yet financially strapped law student, Jack Anderson. Jack's life takes an unforeseen turn when his father, Doug, portrayed by the enigmatic Eric Roberts, becomes incarcerated for embezzlement. Hoping to help his father's case, Jack reluctantly trades his paintbrush for law books, only to find himself drowning in a sea of tuition fees. The world seems to close its doors on Jack as he relentlessly seeks a loan to prevent his academic dreams from crumbling. The banks, society, and even the realm of romance, all rebuff his persistent attempts. Amidst this bleak reality, a beacon of hope emerges in the form of Gino, Jack's fellow classmate and horse-betting enthusiast. The plot thickens when Gino introduces Jack to his Uncle Dennis, an intriguing Irishman whose business ethics are as murky as a foggy Dublin morning. Dennis holds the key to Jack's financial woes, a loan that could rescue his law school aspirations. But as the saying goes, "every silver lining has a cloud," and this loan comes attached with a price that could prove perilous. 79 Parts weaves a tale of resilience and desperation, made all the more captivating by the gritty realism of 1979 Brooklyn. As Jack navigates through the stormy seas of his life, viewers are left on the edge of their seats, wondering if he'll be able to weather the tempest or succumb to the pressure. The cost of Jack's education, it seems, is much more than just tuition.
