The Living Daylights (1987)

James Bond has been tasked with a job that could complete change the rules of the Cold War: ensuring the smooth defection of a Russian general to the UK. He delivers the general safely but finds out that Russian intelligence has put a policy in place to assassinate enemy agents in retaliation. When he later discovers that the defection was all a sham, it puts him on the trail of a secret arms dealer and a transaction that could dramatically upend the geopolitical balance. Bond's mission will ultimately take him to Afghanistan and beyond in search of his mysterious target.
