7 Mummies (2006)

In the unforgiving heat of the Arizona desert, six convicts, a motley crew of misfits, seize their opportunity to escape during a transport van accident. Their newfound freedom is tainted by the death of a security guard at their hands, and the kidnap of a female guard as they hurtle towards the Mexican border. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they stumble upon a gold medallion, inscribed with unknown symbols, and encounter an Apache elder who whispers tales of a hidden Spanish treasure, more gold than ten men can spend in ten lifetimes. Tempted by the allure of unthinkable riches, the convicts veer off their original path, abandoning their quest for freedom for the pursuit of the lost treasure of the Tumacacori. This treasure, mined from the heart of the Guachapa Mountains by enslaved Hohokam Indians and burdened burros under the watchful gaze of Spanish Conquistadors, has been protected for centuries by seven mummified Jesuit priests. These priests, entombed with the gold, were left to guard the bounty from eternity to eternity. The convicts, unknowing of the ancient curse, stumble into an eerily quiet ghost town built over the treasure site by ambitious frontier settlers, who were themselves cursed to exist in purgatory as the undead, guardians of the gold they so greedily sought. The town is under the iron fist of the malevolent Sheriff Drake and his deadly deputies, who will stop at nothing to protect the secret of the seven mummies and their golden hoard. As dusk falls and the old frontier town comes alive with the whispers of the undead, the convicts find themselves in a horrific battle. Faced with vengeful mummies, vampires, zombies, and a ruthless sheriff, they must fight for more than the treasure. They must fight for their survival. The path to unimaginable wealth is littered with danger and death, a chilling testament to the power of greed and the relentless curse of the seven mummies.
