Across the ocean, in bustling Montréal, Denys, the Porn Actor (Shawn Ashmore), cheats the system, using his father's clean blood to feign his own HIV-negative status. When his deceit is unmasked, his mother, Olive Cowie (Stockard Channing), is thrust into the harsh reality of her son's profession and HIV-positive status. United by love and concern, they navigate the aftermath of Denys' actions, seeking a path towards his wellbeing. Meanwhile, in rural China, the pregnant Jin Ping (Lucy Liu), operates in the shadows, trafficking in illicit blood trade. She purchases the blood of the seemingly healthy adults in a village, leaving behind a wave of sickness in her wake. Tong Sam, the Rice Farmer (Tanabadee Chokpikultong), spared from the sale due to his illness, embarks on a quest to unravel the mystery of the sudden illness befalling his village, even as he watches loved ones succumb to the disease.
