In a thrilling journey of survival and discovery, the Butler family - John, a science teacher, his wife Kim, their children Katie and Greg, and their loyal dog Digger, embark on a rafting adventure on the mighty Amazon river. However, their peaceful vacation takes a wild turn when a treacherous current flips their boat, and they are sucked into a swirling whirlpool. Ejected into a realm far removed from their own, they find themselves marooned in a prehistoric valley, teeming with dinosaurs. In this land lost in time, they cross paths with Gorak, a burly caveman, his wife Gara, and their two offspring Lok and Tana. Despite the vast chasm of time and evolution that separates them, the two families strike an unlikely friendship. Leaning on Gorak's knowledge of this primal world, the Butlers strive to stay alive, all while relentlessly searching for a route back home.
