The Head (2020)

As winter's icy grip descends upon the South Pole, the Polaris VI Antarctic Research Station finds itself shrouded in a cloak of isolation. The majority of its staff surrender to the harsh Antarctic winter, leaving the station in the hands of a dedicated few. This select group, known as the Winterers, are driven by their relentless pursuit of innovative research, a beacon of hope in the war against climate change. At the helm of this crusade is Arthur Wilde (John Lynch), a distinguished biologist whose reputation resonates far beyond the icy confines of the station. Among the crew is Maggie (Katharine O'Donnelly), a young doctor with a heart as resilient as the unforgiving terrain. However, when the icy veil lifts with the arrival of spring, summer commander Johan Berg (Alexander Willaume) returns to a scene of chilling horror. The station, once a beacon of scientific progress, is now a crypt of silence, its crew either brutally murdered or mysteriously missing. Among the lost is Johan's wife, Annika (Laura Bach). With his only ally being the traumatized and seemingly lone survivor Maggie, Johan is thrust into a desperate quest for answers. A silent predator lurks within the icy labyrinth of the research station. If Johan is to uncover the truth and find his wife alive, he must not only trust Maggie but also navigate the treacherous games of a killer on the loose, all while the Antarctic winds howl around them. In the heart of the frozen wasteland, the chilling mystery of "The Head" unfolds, where survival isn't merely against nature's fury but also a deadly adversary hidden in plain sight.
