Plot
It's nearing the end of the 19th century, and extreme measures encourage New York police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt to put together an unusual investigative team. A serial killer is murdering child prostitutes throughout the city, and Roosevelt has recruited a newspaper illustrator and an early criminal psychologist to unravel the mystery and get to the heart of the murders. They're to keep their investigation secret, but they do have the aid of an overly capable young secretary who has ambitions to become a detective. Their unique skill sets and unique backgrounds will help set the foundation for modern police work.
