Plot

Nestled in the heart of America, Leonel leads a contented life, believing Roberto to be his biological father. Despite the mystery shrouding his origins and the constant nightmares of a border he doesn't recall crossing, Leonel perseveres. His life is painted with vibrant strokes - a caring family, a loving girlfriend, a flourishing circle of friends, and a promising future as a boxer. Little does he know, a looming betrayal is about to radically transform his world. On a day that should have been a career-defining boxing match, Leonel's life takes an abrupt detour. Arrested and deported as an undocumented visitor to Matamoros, he's robbed of an opportunity to prove his American citizenship. His fate guides him to the bustling labyrinth of Mexico City, where he finds himself in an eclectic neighborhood, forcing him to question his identity. Navigating through a maze of mysteries, Leonel is compelled to shatter his preconceived notions, learn the language of his ancestors, and immerse himself in the vibrant Mexican culture. In the midst of this tumultuous journey, he forges new bonds, uncovers the roots of his heritage, and even finds unexpected love. Yet, the echo of his boxing dream and the pull of his perceived homeland persistently tug at his heartstrings. "Repatriated" is a tale of a young man's quest to reclaim his life, his identity, and his dreams, all while straddling the border of two worlds.
