Plot

In the heart of Brooklyn, amidst the humdrum of everyday life, thrives the vibrant, passionate Loretta Castorini, a bookkeeper in her late 30s. Grappling with the untimely loss of her husband in a tragic bus accident years earlier, Loretta decides it's time to rewrite her destiny. Her chosen quill? A marriage proposal from the courteous, albeit unexciting, Johnny Cammareri. Having blamed her previous marriage's misfortune on a rushed City Hall wedding, Loretta is committed to ensuring a proper ceremony this time around, despite her confession to her wise yet cynical mother, Rose, that she doesn't truly love Johnny. Rose, herself entangled in a complicated marriage with her philandering husband, Cosmo, deems love a fool's game. However, as Loretta prepares to take the plunge into a safe, predictable life with Johnny, she crosses paths with his estranged younger brother, Ronny. A passionate and moody man, Ronny stokes the embers of a passion inside Loretta that she never knew existed. Stuck between her promise to Johnny and her growing feelings for Ronny, Loretta must navigate a maze of decisions and emotions, all while dealing with the fact that she's not the only one in her family harbouring a clandestine romance. Moonstruck paints a vivid picture of a woman's journey through love, loss, and self-discovery, wrapped up in a world of familial dynamics, secret affairs, and comedic twists. As Ronny pursues Loretta relentlessly, despite his brother's absence abroad, Loretta finds herself caught in a web of passion, loyalty, and the desire for a love that truly sets her heart ablaze. This tale of unexpected love and complicated relationships promises a ride filled with laughter, tears, and an opera of comic complications.
