Plot

Haunted by the echoes of past failures and shackled by his addiction to painkillers and mind-altering substances, Adam Kruk, a hardened police officer in his 40s, embarks on a haunting journey back to his roots. The town he once called home holds the key to the unmasking of a paedophile that shattered his friend Slawek's innocence years ago. But fate has woven a complex web for Adam, thrusting him into the heart of a nerve-racking new investigation - the abduction of a prominent man's grandson. Haunted by his inability to shield Slawek from the monsters of their past, Adam perceives the rescue mission as a redemption arc - a chance to correct his past wrongs by shielding another child from the jaws of menace. As he dives deeper into the vortex of the kidnapping case, he must grapple with the demons lurking in the shadowy recesses of his mind. The quest for justice turns into a race against time, unveiling startling links between the past and the present. As the layers of the mystery unravel, Adam is faced with revelations that forge an unforeseen connection between his past trauma and the current crisis. Each revelation brings him a step closer to the truth, drawing a chilling parallel between the two investigations that he must reconcile with.
