Plot

In the desolate remnants of a world we once knew, a solitary robot, Hoshino Yumemi, continues to fulfill her duties with unwavering dedication. Crafted by scientists to both advertise and assist in a planetarium nestled within a shopping mall, she stands as a poignant reminder of a bygone era. As humanity’s true nature emerged, they vanished, leaving a ghost city where electricity has become a scarce and precious resource. Yet, amidst this bleak landscape, the city still holds treasures beyond reckoning, luring the attention of The Junker. Evading the robotic guardians of the city, The Junker eventually stumbles upon Hoshino Yumemi in her planetarium. Initially, he views her as a potential threat, another relic of a past best forgotten. However, as time passes, he reevaluates his initial judgement, finding an unexpected companion in the steadfast robot. He remains in the planetarium, assisting Hoshino Yumemi in her continual effort to repair the projector, providing a glimmer of hope in the stark, post-apocalyptic world. "Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet" weaves a tale of resilience, companionship, and the enduring spirit of duty, even when the world has moved on.
