Plot

In the heart of contemporary Japan's idyllic farming valleys, resides Tokiko "Key" Mima, a being of enigmatic existence. She appears entirely human, yet possesses the unique essence of a robot. A tragic "accident" claims her grandfather's life, leaving behind a cryptic tape recording, his final message infused with wishes and a tantalizing secret - the path to her becoming human. The catch? Key must garner the companionship of 30,000 friends to catalyze this metamorphosis. With her uncanny powers and a circle of friends who dismiss her robotic persona as a delusion, a by-product of a childhood spent amidst robots, Key embarks on this Herculean task. Her allies hold faith that this quest will cure her of her 'delusion'. However, they are not alone in this intricate journey. A shadowy corporation, the suspected orchestrator of her grandfather's demise, lurks in the background. They command an army of robots, animated by the same enigmatic energy that powers Key. As she navigates this complex labyrinth of friendship, identity, and power, Key must confront the sinister forces that stand as obstacles in her quest for humanity. The road is fraught with challenges, but hope and determination fuel her journey, keeping this captivating tale of mystery and transformation alive.
