Plot

In the heart of Vienna, 1886, a young Sigmund Freud finds himself on the outskirts of medical acceptance. His groundbreaking theories about the unconscious mind, coupled with his unconventional use of hypnosis, are met with scorn and disbelief, pushing him to the margins of his profession. As his engagement to his cherished Martha teeters on the edge, Freud's professional reputation is also in jeopardy. Seeking solace, Freud immerses himself in Vienna's extravagant nightlife, accompanying his friend Arthur Schnitzler on cocaine-infused escapades amongst the city's elite. However, this glittering society is soon rattled by a string of baffling murders, the shockwaves of which resonate even within the fortress of political power. Spurred into action, Freud allies himself with the enigmatic medium Fleur and Alfred Kiss, a haunted war veteran turned policeman. Together, they embark on a daring quest to unmask the cunning minds behind the blood-chilling crimes, plunging into an intoxicating world of intrigue and danger. From the opulent parlours of high society to the shadowy corners of the human psyche, Freud's journey is as much a fight for his professional survival as it is a desperate race against time to bring justice to Vienna's silent victims.
