Catch-22 (2019)

The very idea of war is surreal comedy in this satire based in World War II. Captain Yossarian is a bombardier on the island of Pianosa, and all he wants is to protect himself from danger. The one thing he needs is permission to retreat to the hospital — but absurd regulations in military protocol practically ensure no one can receive permission. Yossarian and the rest of his fellow soldiers all try to deal with the absurdities and incompetent policies of the United States military while doing their jobs and trying to get out of the line of fire in the process.
