In the bustling heart of Japan, at the Nekomi Institute of Technology, we find Morisato Keiichi, a diligent but downtrodden college sophomore. Keiichi, trapped in the confines of the Motor Club room by his domineering seniors, is left alone with the monotonous task of receiving messages while the rest of his club indulge in a party. His life takes an unexpected turn when he dials a wrong number during an important call, and his life's monotony is shattered by the mellifluous voice of a woman claiming to belong to the "Goddess Assistance Agency Help Line". The voice materializes into a radiant apparition named Belldandy, who floats majestically from Keiichi's mirror, greeting him by name and announcing herself as a Goddess. Belldandy reveals that the heavens have recognised Keiichi's undying spirit of goodness amidst his hardships, and have chosen to grant him a single wish - a wish that could be anything he can possibly envision. Skeptical yet intrigued, Keiichi makes his wish in a moment of candid honesty: "I wish a goddess like you would stay by my side forever!" The heavens answer, and so begins an extraordinary chapter in the life of Keiichi and Belldandy. The humble student, once exploited for his good nature, now finds himself sharing his world with a divine entity. Keiichi's life, once filled with mundane routine, is now a whirlwind of celestial surprises and earthly trials. His unforeseen companionship with a goddess reveals that even divine intervention cannot shield him from life's tribulations, but it does make his journey far more enchanting and unpredictable.
