Arima Kousei's prodigious skills as a pianist have not been utilized since the death of his mother. The act of playing was a special relationship he shared with his mother, and he's not yet willing to share it with her no longer in this world. But when he meets a beautiful and mysterious violinist at the park, Arima suddenly falls in love with music again. He's hesitant to start playing again, but the manic personality of the young woman he's just met could help him find what he's been missing from his life all this time.
